Harmonia Symposium 2020
Workshop: Psychedelic Mythbusters
Presenter: Greg Poole
Time: 7:00 PM
Today, we will be discussing a number of harmful myths around certain psychoactive substances, and replacing misinformation with verifiable fact. For this talk, we will narrow our focus largely to cannabis, MDMA, and LSD, with some additional discussion about working with law enforcement and evaluating published scientific studies. Please come with questions and an open mind.
Greg Poole is a Sanctuary Manager with Harmonia, and has volunteered with many other harm reduction non-profits, including DanceSafe, SeekHealing, MAPS, and Erowid. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts at Hampshire College, studying the spirituality, mysticism, and shamanism of many cultures. Harmonia was started in order to address a major issue within the festival community that has gone unresolved for far too long: the need for a safe decompression space for individuals undergoing difficult emotional experiences. Harmonia provides harm reduction services via our Decompression Lounge to East Coast and Midwest events and music festivals. Our mission of providing a safe and supportive space for festivals has inspired our community to authentically value self empowerment, educated and intentional decision-making, and creating support networks for others.
